For fans of Lorde, Ashe & Jeremy Zucker
“Filled with lots of nostalgia, filled with childhood friends, I love the way it builds!”
unspoken
Rising alt-pop star Lorana is back with a new project. Second single ‘unspoken’ is due for release on the 3rd of November. Lorana showcases her musical evolution with heartfelt lyricism supported by an enchanting production.
The release of ‘unspoken’ sees Lorana diving deeper into her third EP, which is scheduled for early 2024. This track only came into existence through the friendship story of Lorana and Tamzene (Scottish London-based artist), who co-wrote the song with her. Jules Koniezcny (Tom Grennan, Claptone, Everything Everything, JVKE...) is becoming a staple as her co-producer.
Following Lorana’s US visit with packed-out shows in both NYC and LA, she is now supporting Milo Meskens on his fall tour through Belgium and The Netherlands. Additionally, she’ll be supporting both Lea G and Bea Stewart on their London headline shows.
My music explained in pretty words:
Lorana’s songs encapsulate a wise innocence that feels both refreshing and intriguing. She makes quirky pop that tells honest and vulnerable stories, inspired by artists like Lorde, Ashe and Jeremy Zucker. After the success of her previous work, Lorana’s coming back with more. The next batch of songs is even more captivating, with a sound that’s constantly evolving and lyrics about friendship and love.
Like a breath of fresh air, Lorana portrays her artistic growth like never before.
Lorana on ‘unspoken’
“I wrote ‘unspoken’ with one of my dearest friends, Tamzene. Before our writing session we were talking about our friendship and how being in each other's presence just felt easy. ‘unspoken’ is about that feeling exactly. About friendships where silence is comfortable and you unspokenly know you’ll always be there for each other.”
Lorana is building a fascinating world around her music. Her debut and sophomore EPs, ‘Here In Between’ and ‘The Edge Of Real’, were met with critical acclaim, and her songs have accumulated over 600,000 streams and 2.5 million views on social media. This led to sold-out headline shows in London and Belgium earlier this year. BBC Introducing London, Studio Brussels, NRJ radio, and Radio 2 Belgium all jumped on board, and she secured Spotify playlists like Fresh Finds: Pop & New Music Friday Belgium. Her meaningful stories were then happily picked up and written about in publications like Atwood Magazine, Knack Focus, and Enfnts Terribles.
This next cycle is off to a great start with the first single ‘wild west’ being well received by Spotify, Apply Music and Radio 2 (Belgium). Even though her sound continually develops and evolves, her sensational songwriting and alluring vocals still remain firmly at the core of Lorana’s work. Partly due to her frank lyricism, Lorana’s music means to be unceasingly comforting while still proving to be refreshingly innovative.
